Diego, seriously I thought the mask was sacred as far as Mexican wrestling goes? I thought you guys wore those damn things twenty-four seven, I mean I could see you taking it off when you had to take a shower or something but I really thought you guys wore those things all the time. Silly me to really think that luchadores are really all about tradition and honor. You talk about how you were all high on yourself, full of confidence and ready to take the TV title away from me. You really thought you had a chance? You really were confident that you were going to walk out of that ICW ring with MY belt? Well I hope that you looked at that title when you held it in your hands briefly when the ref showed it to you and I hope you get a longer look when we meet again at this weeks show. Because after that it is time for you to go to the back of the line, like a lion that plays with his prey, I have grown tired of playing with my food and I want to move on.
See Diego you have a ton of talent, you are going to go a long way in this business but this is just not going to be your time. I have studied you enough to be able to know what your tendencies are, maybe even before you realize what move you are going to use. But sitting there in that room, watching that match over and over is only going to do one thing....and that is reinforce your fear. You have to look yourself in the mirror and you have to see what is looking back at you.
Is it a man that is going to learn and grow from this match or are you going to crawl into a hole and just die. I would venture a guess and say you are going to grow and learn and that would make me very happy. See I want you to succeed, I want you to become a better wrestler because after this match you are going to be traveling a different path then me, you are going to have to find a different path to me the next time we meet. And I am not saying you are never going to face me again because I really believe that we will meet again down the road but at the moment you are just learning with each and every match, maybe by fighting me again you will learn a few more things but then again I am not going to be showing you all the moves and counters that I have been taught myself over the years.
I won't kid you Diego you had no idea about who you were facing the first time and I am going to give you a little bit of history and this little bit of history is something that has not even been told to the staff of ICW. I have wrestling in my blood, a long line of wrestlers, fighters and the like line my heritage, my bloodline and I am just going to give you a little bit of a look at the name Hanson...
My great, great grandfather “Swede” Joe Hanson was a bare knuckles fighter in the midwest in the early 1800's he traveled across the country fighting all comers and earning the name of the “Hands of Steel” in the Midwest.
My Grandfather Roy Hanson was also a wrestler he was one of the early pioneers of greco roman wrestling, he fought in many regional promotions and even fought in the Civil War on the side of the North under the command of Gen Meade.
Then there was my dad “Marvelous” Mark Hanson, a tag team specialist that would wear over twenty tag team titles around the world. I credit him for getting me into the business in the old Midwest Wrestling.
Hell I have a cousin and a niece that are all in the business so you see wrestling is big in Mexico, filled with tradition and honor but in my family it is LIFE. I know that a lot of people scoff at me when I say stuff like that given that I actually don't hold wrestling in such high regards as my brethren. I see wrestling as an avenue to other possibilities, as a way to open doors to other pursuits and yes that includes TV and movies, maybe that is why ICW announcers have coined the term “A-lister” when they refer to me and who could blame them, I am the top star in this place, I am the one that everyone looks at and up to when they step through the doors and that is also because I am the only title holder at the time. It shows prestige, it shows glamor and it also shows the bright red target that has been painted on my back ever since I won the TV title. So Diego you talked about how you need to beat me, how you need to see me tapping out and having you hold the title in your hands and in that moment you will have your redemption, your honor will be restored and your family will be able to love you once again. But for that to happen Diego it would be mean that I would have had to have something happen...
I would have to lose...and I don't plan on having that happen....if Diego dies at Showdown then I will truly be sorry for bringing an early end to a promising career but then again if you are going to just throw in the towel this early then maybe you just aren't cut out for this business after all. So if you want sympathy or if you want vindication you are barking up the wrong tree amigo because at Showdown Noah Hanson walks in as the ICW TV champion and when I walk out I will still be the TV champ and I will also qualify for the World title tournament in the process. Maybe we'll meet again down the road Diego and maybe we won't but let me make this perfectly clear....
{We are brought to a graveyard and Noah is shown standing in front of a single grave and the camera pans down to one marked with Diego's name and a mask that resembles the one Diego wears draped over it...Noah then speaks...}
“Aquí Esté Diego De La Vega, él se murió la manera que vivió. luchadore ..a al fin... ”
